JENNY BROOKFIELD

Jenny first became involved with horses at the early age of three. From then on I’ve never been far away from our four legged friends! As a young child, many days were spent at Longton Riding Club doing any class possible. At the age of 12, instead of the intended break from horses to explore other interests, my first horse was purchased and this motivated me to start a career with horses.

SHOW JUMPING

With this horse, my first interest in show jumping was born. I became a member of British Show Jumping at the age of 15 and pursued this line of competition ever since. Over the years I’ve also competed at British Eventing and British Dressage. Currently I have two 8yr old show jumpers who compete on a regular basis and are working their way up the levels of show jumping.

EXPERIENCE

I’ve had experience on a variety of yards. For four years, throughout my final years of school during holidays and weekends, I worked at Knox Sport Horses, a professional show jumping yard. My job there involved yard duties and preparing horses for top show jumping shows where a high standard of turnout was always required. I followed this for four and half years at AB Sport Horses. Here I dealt with a large number of youngsters which we broke and produced, to sell across all disciplines. Both these jobs have provided me with an invaluable amount of experience in various situations that provide a solid basis of knowledge and understanding of horses ensuring the best care and knowledge can be provided to all customers at BEC.

QUALIFICATIONS

Alongside the horses, I attended Westholme School where I completed my GCSEs and A Levels, as well as pursuing my love of sport, taking a highly activate part in all school sports resulting in me becoming Schools Games Captain in my final year. After Westholme, I attended the University of Leeds. At Leeds, I completed a Sports and Exercise Science degree receiving a 2.1 Bachelor of Science degree from the University.

At Brookfield Equestrian Centre we will ensure all our customers enjoy their horses to the maximum by providing an enjoyable and knowledgeable environment.
